What can AI do in Teams and Zoom?

The short answer

AI takes the dull work out of conversations.

Teams, Zoom and your telephony contain more and more AI. Today, the biggest benefit is in the work around a conversation: taking notes, summarising, finding things back and following up.

What it delivers depends on your licences, your agreements on data and how your people work with it.

What it does today

Six uses that work today.

Meetings

Summaries and action items

After a meeting, a summary with decisions and action items, without anyone having to take notes.

What to watch for

Four questions before you switch AI on.

  • Where is your data?Where are recordings and summaries processed and stored? Check your agreements with the vendor.
  • Who may do what?Agree when meetings are recorded or summarised, and tell participants.
  • Say it’s AIIf a customer talks to AI, you must disclose that since August 2026 (AI Act).
  • Does it actually work?Start small, measure the time saved and scale up only when it works.
